Cheap fun for a good cause.
Our elementary school's foundation had it's annual rummage sale this morning. All of the procedes go toward sending 6th graders to outdoor education camp for a week. Starting in 4th grade, students can start earning points toward camp. Madelyn is in 4th grade so, this is the year we start accumulating points. 4th - 6th graders can donate and earn points. They can earn more points by working and selling pancake breakfast tickets. Madelyn worked for 2 hours on Thursday and 4 hours on Friday helping to sort donated items. This morning, both Madelyn and Spencer counted out coins from their banks and purchased little toys at the rummage sale. I found a David Baldacci book, "Simple Genius," that I really wanted and paid a quarter for it. Gotta love a rummage sale. Everyone went home happy for under $5.
